I love reading. I read a few different genres, but my favorites are fantasy, young adult, and personal development books. I was recently gifted a Kindle Paperwhite and it’s got me amped up for reading more. Access to thousands of books at your fingertips…it’s so dangerous!
This month I decided to start re-reading the Harry Potter series in preparation for the July 31st release of the Cursed Child. I just preordered the book and I am SO excited! I am a huge Harry Potter fan and reading the books always give me some sort of peace and comfort. I’ve read the first book more times than I can count but I think I’ve only read the 7th book a handful of times so I’m ready to read it again.
I just finished reading the 4th book in the Dresden Files Series called the Summer Knight. It was a very fun book and introduced us a bit more into the world of the Fae. Here is the Good Reads description for the Summer Knight.
Ever since his girlfriend left town to deal with her newly acquired taste for blood, Harry Dresden has been down and out in Chicago. He can't pay his rent. He's alienating his friends. He can't even recall the last time he took a shower.
The only professional wizard in the phone book has become a desperate man.
And just when it seems things can't get any worse, in saunters the Winter Queen of Faerie. She has an offer Harry can't refuse if he wants to free himself of the supernatural hold his faerie godmother has over him--and hopefully end his run of bad luck. All he has to do is find out who murdered the Summer Queen's right-hand man, the Summer Knight, and clear the Winter Queen's name.
It seems simple enough, but Harry knows better than to get caught in the middle of faerie politics. Until he finds out that the fate of the entire world rests on his solving this case. No pressure or anything...
The Dresden Files is a fun mystery fantasy series and I feel like the books are getting better as I move further ahead. I’m happy to say that I’ll be continuing to read this series of books. I plan on starting the 5th book sometime in June when I need a bit of a break from Harry Potter.
I also plan on reading a non-fiction book to get myself some fun personal development. I think I’m going to try to finish the Power of Habit since it’s been sitting on hold on my nightstand for a few months. It’s a very interesting book I just had too many books going at once for a while. I also want to read it as a part of my Miracle Morning routine. I’ll have to do a short review of the Miracle Morning book sometime soon too!
Does anyone else read multiple books at the same time? Do you enjoy re-reading books?
